The Feldenkrais Gym

Here’s a little more detail about The Feldenkrais Gym, my three-hour workshop at the Feldenkrais Institute of New York, coming on Wednesday, October 11 at 6:30 pm.

We will explore The Feldenkrais Method in the way I think Dr. Feldenkrais envisioned—engaging in a process where a series of Awareness Through Movement® lessons, by stimulating your nervous system to find more synergistic patterns, results in an improvement to your entire organism—you end up feeling better because you have actually made yourself better.

In this workshop, we’ll explore finding ways to more effectively use your center of gravity to make larger, more athletic movement seem simpler, easier and more fun! You’ll better understand where your center of gravity is and how to easily move it. You’ll become more aware of how to “leverage” and turn around the axis of your moving center of mass to make what initially might seem a difficult or even impossible movement pattern seem nearly effortless.

Awareness Through Movement

Basics Class: We recommend this class if you are new to the Feldenkrais Method.
Open Class: This class will build upon concepts that are introduced in the Basics Class.
Moving Out of Pain: This class is open to all, but tailored to those experiencing pain.
Community Class: Sponsored by the Feldenkrais Foundation, this class is open to all and is donation-based ($10 suggested).
